VotePlz Sweepstakes with Over $1M in Prizes

By Tamiera Vandegrift on October 11, 2016

Election day is right around the corner and VotePlz is here to engage millennial voters and encourage them to register and vote in this year’s election. “During the election of 2012, we discovered that of the millennial population, 54% of young voters were registered, but only 40% actually voted, ” said Fouad Matin, one of the founders of VotePlz.

VotePlz was established by Sam Altman, Fouad Matin, Erika Reinhardt, and Ari Weinstein just two months ago with the goal of educating millennials on the voting process, after discovering how difficult and intimidating the process could be.  ”The goal is to make voting easy and simple!” said Matin. A disconcerting and unfortunate truth is that a lot of millennial voters actually have no idea if they are actually registered, or if their current registration is valid to participate in the polls. “A couple of friends and I were looking to make sure that we were registered to vote and we ended up finding a lot of information about the difficulty of the voting process,” said Matin, “We did a survey and found that only 10% to 15% of people knew whether or not their voting registration was valid.”

As a result, VotePlz  was created to offer a variety of helpful resources to young voters- all through the convenience of Internet access. VotePlz helps its users by giving them the opportunity to check the validity of their voter registration, mailing out voter registration forms, helping users to obtain absentee ballots, directing users to their individual state’s online voter registration website, and more!

On the subject of the importance of voting, Matin had this to say: “These decisions affect us and the generations after us. If none of the millennials had participated in the 2012 election, the election would have gone a completely different way. Your vote does matter and it’s both important and a great opportunity to make decisions that affect our government.”

If the promise of leaving a mark on our political situation isn’t enough of an incentive, perhaps the offer of cash will be.

VotePlz has just made the deal even sweeter by holding a sweepstakes with up to $1,040,000 in cash rewards for the simple task of people getting their friends and family to check their voter registration. The sweepstakes offers 20 grand prizes of  up to $50,000 in student debt forgiveness, up to $50,000 in college scholarships, or $25,000 in cash! There are also 2,000 2nd place prizes of $20 gift cards. In other words, by encouraging  friends to hit the polls, there is a great chance to earn some serious cash. Entering is super simple. All you need to do is visit this website, review the rules, follow the directions, and share your personal referral link with friends and family. The sweepstakes will be running from now until November 2nd at 5pm Pacific time.
